Biography
Margarida Neves was born in Lisbon, Portugal, in 1967. She lives on the outskirts of this city, on the south bank of the Tagus River, next to the sea.
She became interested in visual arts from an early age, particularly in photography, as an amateur and self-taught.
In 1990 she graduated in Civil Engineering by Lisbon Technical University (IST). Since then, she has been working as a Building Structures Design Engineer.
In 2018 she completed the Professional Photography Course at APAF - Portuguese Association of Photographic Art. She has been collaborating with this institution in the writing of critical texts on photographic exhibitions.
In 2019 she took part in the 10th edition of the “Photographic Narratives in Intendente” Workshop by Pauliana Valente Pimentel.
She took documentary photographs during rehearsals of theater plays for Nova Companhia.
Since 2021 she has been taking the Three Months Mentorship Program with Pauliana Valente Pimentel on an annual basis.
